About Me.
Hi, I’m Emma – A fully insured, private midwife and founder of Guided By You Midwifery.
My journey into midwifery began after the birth of my third baby. I was lucky enough to receive the most beautiful care from a truly inspiring midwife, and that experience
changed my life. It made me want to become that person for others: someone who offers compassionate, empowering care during one of life’s most incredible moments.
At the age of 46, as a single parent to four wonderful children, I proudly graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Midwifery. It wasn’t the easiest path, but it was driven by pure passion and a deep belief that every woman deserves to feel supported, heard, and safe.
Since qualifying in 2014, I’ve worked across a variety of NHS and private settings, including Whipps Cross and Princess Alexandra Hospitals, confidently supporting women in both high-risk, midwifery-led and homebirth environments.
I have a particular love for home births, including home birth after caesarean (HBAC), and have cared for many women choosing to birth outside of standard guidelines. I also have experience supporting mothers with complex feeding journeys, including twins and babies with additional needs, and those navigating mental health or social challenges.
In 2022, I was proud to win the Excellence in Professionalism and Care Award at the South of England’s NHS Regional Awards, and was also honoured to be runner up Midwife of the Year - moments I will always treasure.

I regularly support families in areas, including Epping, Loughton, Chelmsford and Ongar, providing antenatal visits at home, home birth and hospital support as well as postnatal care.

Working as an independent midwife, I support families across Hertfordshire with continuity led midwifery care, ensuring you are cared for by a known midwife throughout your journey.
