Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of private midwifery services by Guided By You Midwifery, operated by Emma Lawless, a Registered Midwife (NMC Registration: 13I7626E), based in Essex and providing services across London, Essex, and Hertfordshire.

By booking any service with Guided By You Midwifery, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.

2. Services Provided

Guided By You Midwifery offers the following services:

Private midwifery care / continuity of care
Antenatal care
Home birth support
Birth support in hospital
Postnatal care
Breastfeeding support
One off appointments

Full details of each service, including what is included, are provided at the time of booking and outlined in your individual care agreement.

3. Bookings and Consultations

A free initial consultation call is offered to all prospective clients. This call does not constitute a booking or guarantee of care.

A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a signed care agreement and payment of the required deposit. Places are limited and cannot be held without a confirmed booking.

4. Fees and Payment

All fees are outlined clearly at the time of booking. A deposit is required to secure your place, with the remaining balance due as agreed in your care agreement.

Fees are reviewed periodically. Any changes to fees will be communicated in advance and will not affect confirmed bookings.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Please refer to the Refund Policy for full details of cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling.

6. Scope of Practice

Guided By You Midwifery provides care within the scope of practice of a Registered Midwife regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). All care is provided in accordance with NMC standards and guidelines.

In the event of any concern regarding the health or safety of mother or baby, appropriate referral to NHS services will be made. Guided By You Midwifery works alongside, not in replacement of, NHS care where clinically necessary.

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

All personal and medical information shared with Guided By You Midwifery is treated with the utmost confidentiality in accordance with UK GDPR and the Privacy Policy. Information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except where required by law or in the interests of clinical safety.

8. Limitation of Liability

Guided By You Midwifery carries full professional indemnity insurance. Whilst every effort is made to provide the highest standard of care, Guided By You Midwifery cannot be held liable for circumstances outside of its reasonable control.

9. Complaints

If you have any concerns or complaints about the care you have received, please contact me in the first instance at emma@guidedbyyoumidwifery.com. All complaints are taken seriously and handled in accordance with NMC guidance.

You also have the right to raise concerns directly with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) at www.nmc.org.uk.

10. Changes to These Terms

Guided By You Midwifery reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on my website. Continued use of my services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
