Anxiety in Pregnancy

Pregnancy can bring many emotions, including anxiety, fear and uncertainty. You may be worried about your baby, birth, previous experiences, or simply feel overwhelmed by the changes happening around you.

Anxiety in pregnancy is more common than many people realise, and you do not have to go through it alone.I offer calm, compassionate and personalised support to help you feel heard, reassured and more confident throughout your pregnancy.

Whether you are feeling anxious about labour, birth, previous trauma, medical appointments or becoming a parent, I can support you at your own pace.

Together, we can create a safe space to talk through your concerns, make a plan that feels right for you, and help you feel more in control during your pregnancy journey.

Signs of Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in many different ways, both in the mind and in the body.

Everyone experiences it differently, but some common signs include:

Emotional and mental signs

  • Persistent worry or fear that’s hard to control

  • Feeling on the edge, restless, or irritable

  • Difficulty concentrating or focusing

  • Racing thoughts or a sense of impending danger

Physical signs

  • Rapid heartbeat or chest tightness

  • Muscle tension, headaches, or stomach discomfort

  • Shortness of breath or dizziness

  • Trouble sleeping or changes in appetite

Behavioral signs

  • Avoiding certain people, places, or situations

  • Relying on safety behaviours (like constant checking or reassurance seeking)

  • Withdrawing from activities or relationships

If anxiety starts to interfere with daily life, relationships, or overall wellbeing, it may be time to reach out for professional support. Help is available, and you don’t have to manage it alone.

Pregnancy anxiety support should be gentle, reassuring and tailored to your individual needs. Having continuity of care and someone you trust to talk to can make a real difference.

I can offer calm, one-to-one support throughout pregnancy, helping you to talk through worries, understand your options and feel more prepared for birth and early parenthood.

Whether your anxiety relates to a previous birth experience, medical concerns, fear of labour, loss of confidence or simply feeling overwhelmed, you do not have to cope alone.

How Can I Support You

I offer compassionate, one-to-one support throughout pregnancy to help you feel listened to, informed and reassured.

This may include extra time to talk through worries, more frequent appointments, support with birth planning, discussing previous experiences, preparing for labour and helping you feel more confident about your choices.

My aim is to provide continuity of care so that you feel supported by someone who knows you, understands your concerns and can guide you through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
