Breastfeeding Support in London

Updated: Aug 1

Breastfeeding is one of the most natural things in the world, and yet for so many mums it doesn't come easily. If you're finding feeding harder than you expected, or you just want someone experienced by your side while you find your rhythm, you're not alone, and support is closer than you think.

As an independent midwife supporting families across London, I offer hands on, one to one breastfeeding support in the comfort of your own home. Whether you're in Wembley, Ruislip, Pinner, Wanstead, Harrow, Barnet, Enfield, or anywhere else across the city, I come to you rather than asking you to travel with a newborn in tow.

Why breastfeeding support matters in London

The early weeks of feeding can bring up all sorts of questions. Is my baby latching properly? Why does this hurt? Is my supply enough? These are some of the most common worries new mums bring to me, and almost always there's a simple, practical answer once we sit down together and take a proper look.

Because I visit you at home, I can watch a full feed from start to finish, in your normal setting, without the time pressure of a clinic appointment. That makes a real difference. Small adjustments to positioning or attachment can transform a feed from painful to comfortable, and often it just takes a fresh pair of eyes to spot what's going on.

How do midwives support breastfeeding in London?

Midwives support breastfeeding in London by offering hands-on, one-to-one help in your own home, whether that's with positioning and latch, building your confidence, or working through any feeding challenges. As an independent midwife, I can spend as much time as you need, without the time pressure of a hospital appointment.

Support for every feeding journey

Not every feeding journey looks the same, and that's exactly how it should be. I support:

  • Breastfeeding, from the very first latch through to established feeding

  • Bottle feeding, including combination feeding if that's what works best for your family

  • Expressing, whether that's for a night out, building a stash, or supporting supply

  • Mums facing specific challenges, including twins, tongue tie concerns, or babies with additional needs

Whatever path you're on, there's no judgement here, only practical, evidence based support tailored to you and your baby.

Continuity that makes a difference

One of the things families across London tell me they value most is continuity. You're not seeing a different midwife or health visitor every time you need help. You're building a relationship with someone who already knows your birth story, your baby, and what's worked and hasn't worked so far. That continuity often means problems get caught and resolved much faster.

Local support, wherever you are

Whether you're based in Wembley, Ruislip, Pinner, Wanstead, Harrow, Barnet, Enfield, or elsewhere across London, home visits mean you don't need to pack up a newborn and head out to an appointment when you're feeling exhausted or unsure. I come to you, at a time that works for your family.

Feeding support is just one part of the wider care I offer. If you'd like to know more about the full range of infant feeding support available, you can find out more on my Infant Feeding Support page, or take a look at all the services I offer.
