Support for anxiety in pregnancy from an independent midwife across London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
Feeling anxious during pregnancy is very common.
Pregnancy can bring a huge mixture of emotions. You may feel excited one moment and worried the next. Many women find themselves feeling anxious about birth, their baby’s wellbeing, previous experiences, changing relationships, finances or simply the unknown.
These feelings are completely understandable and normal.

For some women, anxiety can feel mild and manageable. For others, it can feel overwhelming and begin to affect everyday life.
Signs of anxiety in pregnancy can include:
feeling constantly worried
struggling to switch off racing thoughts
difficulty sleeping
feeling tense or on edge
panic attacks
avoiding certain situations or appointments
feeling frightened about birth or becoming a parent
It is important to know that you do not have to manage these feelings alone.
Talking openly about how you are feeling can make a huge difference. Whether your anxiety is linked to a previous difficult experience, loss, birth trauma, fear around labour or simply uncertainty about what is ahead, support is available.

Many women tell me they feel pressure to enjoy every moment of pregnancy, which can sometimes make feelings of anxiety even harder to talk about. The reality is that pregnancy can be wonderful and difficult at the same time.
Having the time and space to ask questions, talk through worries and feel listened to can help you feel calmer and more reassured.

As an independent midwife, I offer calm, personalised care with time to talk through your worries without judgement. My aim is to help you feel listened to, informed and reassured throughout your pregnancy.
Having continuity of care and support from someone you know and trust can help you feel more confident and less alone.
I can support you with:
fear around labour or birth
anxiety after a previous difficult experience
worries about your baby’s wellbeing
low confidence during pregnancy
birth planning and preparation
emotional wellbeing throughout pregnancy
If you are feeling anxious during pregnancy, you are very welcome to get in touch, arrange a discovery call or read my Google reviews to hear from families I have supported.
