Postnatal Care in Essex

The weeks after your baby arrives can be some of the most overwhelming of your life, even when everything has gone well. Your body is recovering, your emotions are all over the place, and suddenly you're responsible for a tiny new person who doesn't come with an instruction manual. Good postnatal support makes all the difference, and it's something every family across Essex deserves access to.

I offer postnatal care to families throughout Essex, including Waltham Abbey, Epping, Loughton, Chigwell, Harlow, Chelmsford, and Brentwood, with visits in the comfort of your own home during those early, tender weeks.

If you're outside of Essex, I also support families with postnatal and breastfeeding care across Hertfordshire and London.

Why the postnatal period needs just as much care

So much attention goes into preparing for birth, and understandably so, but what comes after often gets far less focus. Physical recovery, establishing feeding, adjusting emotionally, and simply getting enough rest all take real support, not just a single check up a few weeks down the line.

My postnatal visits give you the space to ask the questions you might feel silly asking anywhere else, whether that's about your own recovery, your baby's weight gain, or how you're really feeling emotionally. Nothing is off limits, and nothing is rushed.

What is the role of a midwife during early parenthood in Essex?

During early parenthood, a midwife's role goes beyond just checking on physical recovery. In Essex, I support new families with feeding, emotional wellbeing, baby's development, and simply making sure you feel confident in those first weeks.

What postnatal care in Essex looks like

Every family's needs look a little different in the postnatal period, but support generally includes:

  • Checking on your physical recovery after birth, whether you had a straightforward delivery or something more complex

  • Supporting feeding, whatever choice you've made, with practical, hands on help

  • Monitoring your baby's growth, wellbeing, and development

  • Space to talk honestly about how you're coping emotionally, without judgement

Support close to home across Essex

Whether you're based in Waltham Abbey, Epping, Loughton, Chigwell, Harlow, Chelmsford, Brentwood, or nearby, home visits mean you're not having to get yourself and a newborn out the door for an appointment when you're still finding your feet. I come to you.
